A. What is Kinderbook
Kinderbook is a growing, global library of children's books for mobile devices, helping to preserve the culture of reading children's books in the digital age by creating a treasury of the world’s best children’s literature.
B. What are Books by Kinderbook
Our books are intended for readers from two to seven years of age. The main elements of Kinderbooks are the illustrations, supplemented by some text and voice. Our books have no interactivity, no animation, no sound effects. When books are published in other languages, a second language (English) is often added in addition to the primary language.
C. Where Our Books Come From
We create Kinderbooks in collaboration with authors and artists who embrace the goals of Kinderbook. We are writing new stories as well as illustrating traditional folk tales. Licenses for previously published books are obtained from publishers in different countries. In addition, we scan previously published books and sign contracts with their respective owners.
D. How We Work
We bring enthusiasts from around the world together into virtual editorial boards. Editors edit a translated book, assign a voice-over artist and a designer, and the book is published in our own applications for iPad and Android.
E. Who Conceived the Idea of Kinderbook
Pavel Simonov created the concept, developed the structure and principles upon which the organization is based, and gathered the first participants of the project. Pavel travels to various countries meeting with publishers and collecting books to add to Kinderbook’s library. He also works hard to expand the number of countries involved in the project, truly reflecting an international effort.
F. Our Group
In business, a group is often a group of companies. In our case, we can say that our group is a group of editors. But more correctly, we are a group of people united by a common idea. There are no bosses and performers at Kinderbook, only like-minded people whose purpose is to create books for children. As a group, we can do more and better.
G. How We Are Organized
In each country, we create a virtual board, consisting of an editor-in-chief, editors, designers, translators, and sound professionals. The editor-in-chief forms the plan for book publishing and coordinates the work. The rest do their part to accomplish the end goal. To take into account the performed work and the statistics of sold books, we use proprietary software.
H. Conditions of Participation
The main principle of Kinderbook - money isn't everything. People at Kinderbook work for the sake of contribution to world culture. With that, the commercial component is also present. All those taking part in the creation of a specific book will get an equal share of its revenue. In all countries. No exceptions. Equally in Vietnam, in Ukraine, and in Malaysia.
I. Joining Our Ranks
We welcome new participants of the project. We need writers, artists, voice-over artists, designers—just people with an open mind, willing to help, who are fans of children's books. There will be work for everybody. Contact Pavel email@example.com, in Russian or English.
J. Who Makes Decisions
We have a democracy. The power in editing belongs to the editors, and they make the final choice of which books belong on the shelf. Finance and statistics are managed by two participants independent of each other, who do not report to the editors. Thus, the system is organized all by itself. And if there are conflicts, we meet and negotiate.
